Job Description
Tired of filling the same roles on repeat? Step out of recruiting and use your expertise to help hundreds of businesses hire better as Betterteam's Senior Customer Success Manager.
We're looking for an experienced recruiting professional to step into a Senior Customer Success Manager role at our Chicago office. In this position, you'll leverage your talent acquisition expertise to help hundreds of small-business customers improve their hiring outcomes using Betterteam's applicant tracking system. If you're coming from an agency or recruiting firm and craving a bigger, more meaningful challenge - one where you'll advise multiple companies on how to hire better (rather than filling one role at a time) - this is the opportunity for you.
About us: Betterteam is a rapidly growing HR tech company that helps businesses hire the best talent quickly and easily. Founded in 2016, Betterteam's platform has already helped our clients post over 1,000,000 jobs and connect with more than 40 million candidates. Today, over 170,000 companies (from neighborhood boutiques to recognizable brands like Hilton and Kroger) have used Betterteam to streamline their recruiting. Our platform is recognized as the most recommended applicant tracking system on Capterra and has won awards for best functionality, best support, and best value - clear proof that we're delivering real results for our users.
The Role: As a Senior Customer Success Manager at Betterteam, you will be the strategic partner and advocate for our existing customers - primarily small business owners and HR teams who rely on our ATS to find great hires. This is not a quota-carrying sales role; instead, your focus is on building relationships and ensuring each client achieves maximum value from Betterteam. You'll diagnose issues in their recruiting funnel and recommend smart solutions through correct usage of Betterteam or just modifications to their recruitment process. In short, your mission is to turn customers into raving fans and help drive their success (and in turn, Betterteam's success) every day.
What You'll Do: - Consult & Advise: Work closely with a portfolio of small business clients to understand their hiring goals and challenges. Review their job posts, hiring workflows, and applicant funnels, and provide expert advice to improve the quality and quantity of candidates they attract.
- Drive Adoption: Proactively educate clients on all Betterteam features and best practices - from sending jobs to 100+ boards with one click to organizing candidates in the dashboard - so they fully leverage the platform for better results.
- Analyze & Optimize: Monitor key recruiting metrics (e.g. applicant flow, time-to-hire, drop-off rates) and use data-driven insights to spot bottlenecks or opportunities. Translate these findings into actionable recommendations that help clients hire faster and more effectively.
- Build Relationships: Serve as the trusted point of contact for your clients. Schedule regular check-ins, lead training sessions or strategy reviews, and be the go-to advisor whenever they need guidance or have questions. Your ability to build rapport will drive high client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate & Advocate: Liaise with our Support and Product teams to troubleshoot any issues and advocate for your clients' needs. You'll relay feedback and feature requests, ensuring the voice of the customer is heard loud and clear as we continuously improve the product.
- Spot Growth Opportunities: While you won't carry a sales quota, you will identify situations where a client could benefit from expanding their use of Betterteam - whether it's adding more job postings, upgrading to a higher plan, or trying new features. When it's right for the client, you'll work with our sales team to coordinate a smooth upsell/expansion that genuinely helps the customer succeed.
Who You Are:
You're an accomplished recruiting professional who knows how to get results and build trust with clients. Perhaps you've been a recruiter or account manager at a recruitment or staffing agency, or a talent acquisition specialist working with various hiring managers - in any case, you understand how to diagnose hiring challenges and prescribe effective solutions. You're now eager to move beyond the agency grind and use your knowledge to impact many companies at once. You combine a consultative mindset with hands-on hustle, and you're as comfortable talking with a small business owner about their hiring pains as you are digging into recruitment data and workflows.
Your Background & Skills: - Recruiting Expertise: 3+ years in recruitment or talent acquisition (preferably in an agency or other client-facing role). You've written compelling job ads, optimized hiring pipelines, and maybe even coached hiring teams on best practices.
- Consultative Communicator: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, actively listen, and influence stakeholders. You can deliver feedback or coaching on hiring strategies in a way that motivates positive change.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable working with data and metrics - you can interpret recruiting stats and turn them into a story or strategy. Experience tracking funnel metrics and using ATS/CRM tools to report on outcomes is a big plus.
- Proactive & Driven: You take initiative to solve problems and go the extra mile to ensure clients are happy. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and don't shy away from wearing multiple hats to get the job done.
- Passion for Impact: You genuinely care about helping small businesses succeed. Your enthusiasm is infectious - it inspires clients and teammates alike. You want a role where your work truly matters and can change the trajectory of growing companies.
Why Join Betterteam:
- High-Impact Work: Your efforts will directly influence the success of hundreds of businesses and the careers of countless people they hire. Every day, you'll see tangible results from your expertise in action.
- Competitive Compensation: Enjoy a strong base salary and performance-based bonuses based on client renewal and satisfaction metrics. We reward you for client success and satisfaction, not cold calls or aggressive sales quotas.
- Excellent Benefits: We've got you covered with comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Generous Time Off: 20 days paid vacation, paid public holidays, and 10 personal/sick days per year. We believe in work-life balance and know that recharging outside of work fuels even better performance on the job.
- Modern Office: Work in a bright, modern office above the Chicago redline station.
- Growth Opportunities: As Betterteam continues to expand, you'll have room to grow your role and advance your career. We're committed to investing in our team members' professional development - your success is our success.
