• Portneuf Medical Center is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's tertiary care and Level II Trauma Center, housing the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality therapy and care to patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological, or other metabolic disturbances requiring various treatments.
• Communicate with physicians regarding therapy efficacy, instruct patients, take phone orders, and perform other cardiopulmonary care services.
• As part of the NICU transport team, participate in interhospital transports via fixed-wing, rotor-wing, and ground.
• Conduct treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies in a safe and effective manner.
• Administer and document medication in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Precept employees, new orients, and students.
• Maintain awareness of environmental conditions and initiate corrective interventions as needed.
• As a Flight RT, respond to transport requests, initiate timely interventions, and evaluate patient progress throughout the transport process.
• Demonstrate competence with advanced respiratory modalities and flight equipment.
• Participate in training and maintain proficiency in flight duties and medical guidelines.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the American Medical Association.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current Idaho State License to practice Respiratory Care.
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital, including 1 year in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with HFOV and INO experience.
• Current certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required.
• Certification in PALS and STABLE within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• NPS or C-NPT preferred.
