Job Description

As the Design Project Manager II at IGT, you will take the helm of large-scale, complex game development initiatives, guiding them from inception through to regulatory submission. In this highly collaborative role, you’ll be the driving force that unites cross-functional teams—including Producers, Project Managers, Graphic Artists, Mathematicians, Developers, Technical Artists, and Test Engineers—to deliver high-quality games on time and within scope. Acting as a central hub, you’ll coordinate every facet of development, ensuring smooth progress, overcoming obstacles, and keeping projects aligned with business goals. Your role goes beyond oversight - you’ll mentor junior project managers, share best practices, and champion a culture of continuous improvement. With a solid understanding of IGT’s financial processes and development methodologies, you’ll keep projects on track, manage resources, and ensure critical documentation is always up to date. By anticipating risks and removing roadblocks, you’ll drive innovation and excellence, shaping the future of gaming at IGT. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering immersive gaming experiences, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact.

  • Facilitate development and delivery of game projects from inception to submission, managing higher-complexity games with oversight only as requested.
  • Work with fellow project managers to support game initiatives, align with business goals, and identify best practices.
  • Develop, track, and report on project progress, resources (e.g., staff, assets, time), and project metrics using a variety of reporting methods.
  • Identify and monitor project risks, issues, change requests, and mitigation plans in line with development management strategies.
  • Engage with the project team to develop iteration plans, with mentor assistance, to achieve the roadmap and game design vision.
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation, notes, meeting outcomes, and schedule formulation with game teams.
  • Leverage working knowledge of IGT financial management processes to support project completion and game development initiatives.
  • Analyze and remove project barriers and roadblocks to maintain project momentum and quality.
  • Review delivered results and assess team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide mentorship to lower-level project managers, fostering growth and sharing best practices across teams.
  • Disseminate information to project team members, ensuring smooth communication and sharing best practices across studios.
  • Support the team, studio, and/or business with unique tasks or project requests outside routine game development responsibilities of project managers.
  • Champion continuous improvement by recommending process optimizations, new software and tools, and fostering knowledge-sharing practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in project management techniques and methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify needs and opportunities and develop solutions.
  • Demonstrated successful delivery of quality products through consistent milestones, from inception to completion.
  • Proficient knowledge of market segmentation in the gaming industry and gaming regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of advanced IGT product lines and markets.
  • Proficient knowledge of the IGT game development process and tasks of cross-functional game development contributors.
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar programs.
  • Familiarity with software engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-10 years’ experience managing projects and leading project teams.
  • Agile, Scrum, or PMI certification.

Keys to Success

  • Building collaborative relationships
  • Decision making
  • Drive results
  • Foster innovation
